Lake Red Rock Rises as Rains Continue

Recent rainfall, coupled with last week’s precipitation throughout Central Iowa, has the water level at Lake Red Rock on the rise again. The lake level Wednesday morning was pushing 771 feet – an increase of over 1.6 feet in the past 24 hours, and nearly 29 feet above normal lake levels.

With more rain falling throughout the region Tuesday morning, the water level at Lake Red Rock is expected to increase by nearly two feet by Thursday. Last year at this time, the lake was at near normal levels, at 742.73 feet. The record high for water levels came on July 13, 1993, when the water at Lake Red Rock crested at 782.67 feet.
