The school year came to an end last week at Pella’s Madison Elementary School, and with it came the end of the tenure of a long-time administrator. Principal Donna Hancock is retiring after 20 years as an elementary principal in the Pella Community School District. Mrs. Hancock had been in education for 42 years overall, including 19 years in the Pleasantville School District. She will be replaced by Kate Jones, who recently served as an assistant principal in Iowa City.
