The Knoxville City Council is considering converting the land around the Recreation Center into usable playing fields.  Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers and Public Works Director Jeff May discussed the possibilities of building soccer and football fields west of the Rec. Center with the council at their recent meeting.  In addition to the athletic fields May and Nemmers expressed that it would be necessary to build an additional 100 parking stalls in the area to be able to accommodate those who would use the area.  City Manager Dick Schrad says the city will be looking into the cost of these improvements and possibly using General Obligation Bond money to complete the projects.
