With the offense struggling to produce, the Pella Christian softball team rode another strong pitching performance from Paige Blom and a solid team effort defensively to capture a 2-0 win at Newton last night.

The Lady Eagles had just 4 hits on the night, three of which came from Heather Van Sant, who also had an RBI. Tayler Stursma had the other hit for PC. Paige Blom turned in another steady performance in the circle for the Lady Eagles, giving up just three hits and three walks while striking out eight Newton batters in seven innings of work.

With the victory, the Pella Christian softball team sweeps the season series with Newton, and improves to 16-6 overall and 9-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, with a Varsity doubleheader against Washington up tonight at Pella Christian High School.
