Pella kept themselves in the hunt for a LHC title with a hard fought 4-3 win in nine innings at Grinnell last night. Mandy Demeulenaere got the win pitching all nine innings allowing one earned run on seven hits while striking out seven. Pella had eight hits on the night led by Whitney Williams who went 2-4 with an RBI, Mackenzie Anthony also had an RBI and went 1-4, other hits came from Lisa Houser, Demeulenaere, Whitney Pavlat, Rachel Greving and Bri Arkema. Pella improved to 14-8 overall and 7-2 in the LHC and is still right at the top of a three team LHC race between Pella, Norwalk and Pella Christian as all three have just two conference losses. The Lady Dutch play a non conference game at North Mahaska who’s ranked 10th in Class 1A tonight , then have two big conference games as they play at Pella Christian Wednesday which more than likely will knock one of the two out of the conference title hunt, then play at Knoxville Thursday.
