The Pella softball team was looking forward to getting Little Hawkeye Conference play started against rival Oskaloosa last night, but due to lightning and the threat of severe weather were never able to get started. The freshman/JV/Varsity tripleheader has been re scheduled for June 15th at Pella.

The Lady Dutch were coming off a strong weekend where they went 2-1 at the Centerville tournament behind strong hitting at the plate and solid pitching. Whitney Williams went a combined 7-109 at the plate in the three games and Whitney Pavlat smacked two homeruns, while pitcher Mandy Demeulenaere recorded 19 strikeouts while only allowing nine total hits in the two wins. The Lady Dutch will now have to wait until Friday to play again when they travel to South Tama for a freshman/jv/varsity tripleheader starting at 4:30pm.
