The Knoxville Pocket Park Naming Committee will hold their next meeting this afternoon to discuss the future dedication of the park. The original recommendation came from former mayor Harv Sprafka, who was instrumental in securing funds to create the park, to name the park Brooks Garden after Dave and Stephanie Brooks. Mayor Don Zoutte says the committee is looking into all possible options and is considering a name such as Legacy Park, in order to honor several individuals, including the Brooks, who have made a difference by improving the city of Knoxville. The committee’s second meeting will begin at 4pm in the council chambers of city hall, and is open to the public.
