A well known wooden statue on the VA campus in Knoxville is missing a few key pieces. The soldier and United States Flag that once stood by a young boy in a piece of art carved out of a tree truck is now gone. According to Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada the police department received a report late last week that a portion of the statue had fallen over. Losada says they believe the piece rotted and fell over on its own. The VA was contacted and the fallen portion of the statue was collected by VA officials.
