As part of a program begun last summer, the Iowa State Patrol will increase its presence on Marion County highways this weekend. “Safe Saturdays” puts every sworn officer on Iowa highways for one of four weekends in the month of June as a proactive measure to protect Iowa motorists at the start of the summer season. District two – which includes Marion County – is one of the three State Patrol districts that will have extra Troopers on the roads this Saturday.
