The month of August is typically a hot and humid one in Iowa, but that hasn’t stopped race fans from enjoying the Knoxville Nationals for 50 years. However, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum is offering fans an opportunity to escape the heat and enjoy this year’s 50th anniversary of the Knoxville Nationals from the comfort of its air-conditioned second floor. A four day ticket package gives ticket holders a spot in a cool, non-smoking environment where they are allowed to bring in their own food and drinks, which museum Executive Director Bob Baker says is unusual these days for major sporting events.
