The CEO and President of Vermeer Corporation has been selected by President Barack Obama as a member of the President’s Export Council. Mary Vermeer Andringa will join a panel of business leaders from around the country who will offer advice on how to promote U.S. exports, jobs and growth.

Andringa is a leader in multiple capacities, presently serving as director for Herman Miller Company; vice chair of the National Association of Manufacturing; is a member of the Board of Councilors for the China-US Center for Sustainable Development; and a trustee for the Fuller Theological Seminary. She also serves on the Central College Board as trustee emeritus.

The appointments of Andringa and other industry leaders came on the same day that Obama gave a progress report on the National Export Initiative, which aims to double exports and support millions of new jobs over five years.
