A large group of city officials, community members, family and friends gathered this past weekend or honor a couple that helped improve the city of Knoxville. The Brooks Garden dedication celebration was held Saturday morning at the park. Park designer Harv Sprafka said a few words about the park’s honorees, Dave and Stephanie Brooks and their contribution to the city, followed by thanking those who helped make his dream a reality. Mayor Don Zoutte spoke about how the park improved the look of the downtown area and the Knoxville Chamber Ambassadors did a ribbon cutting to officially welcome the park to the area. A large stone and plaque were also placed at the park to acknowledge the park’s name and honorees.
