The kennels at the Marion County Humane Society are full to capacity and many dogs and cats are in need of adoption. Currently there are approximately 10 dogs that have spent about one year at the shelter and are in special need of adoption. Right now, these canines are available for a special adoption fee of $45 which includes spay/neuter, shots and a microchip. All other dogs can be adopted for a fee of $85 with cats and kittens available for $65. Those who are interested in checking out the pets available can stop by the Humane Society at 1701 East Pleasant in Knoxville and they are open from 10 am to 4 pm Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, or by appointment.
