The heavy rains that quickly filled up Lake Red Rock earlier this summer have created positives and negatives for outdoor recreation on the lake. John Holt, Assistant Operations Manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the summer has been a mixed bag for lake activities; saying that while boaters have had a bigger lake with clearer water than they would normally see, they’ve also had to contend with beaches and boat ramps that have been under water for much of the summer. Holt says at it’s current level, Lake Red Rock spans roughly 60,000 acres.
