Knoxville and Bussey Residents Honored for Volunteerism

[simage=3250,200,y,left] Nine Marion County volunteers and organizations were honored Friday at the Governor’s annual Volunteer Awards ceremony, including two from Knoxville and two from Bussey. Knoxville residents Latisha Embray and Larry Fudge along with Bailey Parker and Angela Bacus of Bussey were among the 261 volunteers honored by Governor Chet Culver in Ankeny Friday morning. Bacus, Embray and Parker were nominated by Twin Cedars High School principal David Roby while Fudge was nominated by Allan Murray from the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. The Governor’s Volunteer Awards were established in 1982 to recognize the commitment and service of Iowa’s outstanding volunteers.
