The Fourth Annual Knoxville Nationals One/Third Marathon is coming up next Saturday August seventh. Race Director Joe Cunningham says the eight-point-seven mile course is unique because he does not think there is an event like this one. He adds it is great for an avid runner…and everybody is done in short amount of time. Registration costs 35-dollars for the third marathon and 20-dollars for the 5K run/walk by August second. The costs go up to 40-dollars and 25-dollars respectively after August second. There are two new events to the third marathon, the High School Team Competition where area cross country teams can enter. Cunningham says they will score it like a cross country meet, and the winning team gets a trophy. There is also a Team T-shirt Challenge where team of four or more can wear creative T-shirts. Prizes will be awarded to the top five.
