Led by a pair of speedsters at the top of the batting line-up, the Pella Christian softball team set a new team record for stolen bases this season. The Lady Eagles had a program-best 102 thefts in 2010, led by Shelby Weaver’s 27 stolen bases; with teammate Heather Van Sant right behind with 26. Those individual numbers placed Weaver and Van Sant in 2nd and 3rd in the conference, respectively, trailing only Pella’s Whitney Williams.

Pella Christian’s 102 steals as a team was tops in the league. Other notable base-path bandits for PC included Ashley Van Kooten, who stole 12 bases, and pinch-runner Lauren Jungling, who recorded 11 thefts as a relief base-runner.

The Pella Christian softball team finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 21-10, and at 11-3, shared the Little Hawkeye Conference title with Pella.
