Pella Mayor Releases Statement on Drowning Accident

The Mayor of the City of Pella has released an official statement on behalf of the community in regards to Wednesday’s accidental drowning at the Pella Aquatic Center. Said the Mayor,

“On behalf of all Citizens of the City of Pella, we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the two young men who tragically drowned Wednesday evening at the Aquatic Center. Also, we would hope for support for all of those directly involved, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, their leaders and students, as well as all of the staff and lifeguards at the Aquatic Center.”

14-year-old Gael Paulette – also known as Gael Chrispin – and 15-year-old Nehmson Sanon died on Wednesday night, during an event that was being held at the Pella Aquatic Center by the Central Western Iowa Des Moines Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
