A major street project in Pella has been put on hold by an extremely rainy month of June. Norris Asphalt, the contractor for the project, was originally to begin work in the middle of last month, but delays on other projects have pushed the asphalt overlay project back to late this month or early August at the earliest – according to Pella Public Works Director Denny Buyert. The milling and resurfacing project is expected to take two to three weeks once it begins, and spans an eight-block stretch that starts at South Main Street and turns into Oskaloosa Street near Pella Corporation.
