Watch Out for Cattle on Highway 163

The Marion County Sheriff’s office reports that there was a one vehicle accident with no injuries at approximately 3 AM this morning on Highway 163 across from LDJ Manufacturing near Pella. One vehicle struck a cow. A number of cattle apparently escaped from their enclosure, and eleven remain missing. The Iowa Department of Transportation has placed warning signs between the 36 and 40 mile markers. Please use caution in the area, and on other nearby roadways.
