As it has with many other outdoor projects and activities, the summer’s continuous rainfall has created more than its fair share of challenges for gardeners as well. Sheryl Nunnikhoven with Dutch Meadows Garden Center in Pella says while it has been hard to get out and do much work in gardens this summer, and ability to remove weeds before they begin dropping seeds will eliminate a lot of headaches this year and next year for gardeners. Nunnikhoven recommends placing a large piece of cardboard on the ground to allow gardeners to get in and remove as many weeds now as they can.
