Around three dozen business leaders, political activists, area residents and members of the media were on hand at the Vermeer Global Pavillion Tuesday afternoon to hear Republican Terry Branstad share his vision for the future of economic development in Iowa. Joined by running mate Kim Reynolds, the former governor stressed a need to market Iowa more aggressively to help expand job opportunities and shared a plan to assemble a public/private partnership to replace the Iowa Department of Economic Development; which Branstad views as dysfunctional.
