Central College will be one of twenty-eight Iowa private colleges and universities participating in Iowa Private College Week this week. The annual event provides an opportunity for high school students and their parents to learn more about their options for higher education by providing campus tours, informative sessions on financial aid and chances to ask questions about academics and college life. Terri Crumley, Director of Admissions at Central, says the structure of the week lends itself well to giving potential students as much information as possible.

“What’s great about this week is that all of the colleges have a morning session and an afternoon session; so you can hit two colleges in a day, get a good idea of what their admission process is, [and] get a tour of campus,” says Crumley. “So it’s a good way to get an initial feel of a college and see what works for you.”

Last year, Central College hosted approximately 424 students and their families and already have more than that registered for this week’s sessions. Iowa Private College Week is sponsored by the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and is in its 12th year. To register for a session, you can contact the Central College admission office at 877-462-3687 or visit www.Central.edu.
