Knoxville Football Coach Troy Rider and his staff are going to honor one of his seniors by allowing them to wear the number 39. Ken Locke, for whom the Panthers’ home stadium is named after wore number 39 during his career. Rider says instead of retiring the number he will select one senior each season to wear the number 39 no matter what position he plays. Rider says the decision will be based on a player’s character, work ethic and commitment to the program. He adds they do have a senior in mind but is keeping it hush-hush until the season gets closer to starting.
