The 2010-2011 academic year in the Knoxville School District is off to a good start according to Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack. There are several changes in place this year with the closing the East Elementary, the start of the grade alike centers and addition of the free four year old pre-school program. Dr. Flack says it will take a few days to get things down where the move smoothly, especially in relation to the shuttle buses to and from the East Elementary drop off station but he says there are good people supervising the operation so he thinks it will go well. Flack says he appreciates the patience cooperation of parents and guardians in the district as the year gets underway.
