Things were a “huge success” at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum during this year’s 50th annual Knoxville Nationals. Executive Director Bob Baker says he was helping out at the Knoxville Raceway booth at the Iowa State Fair this week and the positive feedback received was amazing. Baker says the inaugural wine, beer and cheese tasting event got them off to a fast start with a large number of attendees and vendors raved about how visitors not only sampled the items but purchased more product than at any other tasting event they had participated in.

Baker adds that a record breaking crowd of more than 400 race fans attended this year’s Members Only VIP reception to hear Dave Argabright interview Doug Wolfgang, Danny Smith and Rock Ferkel about the early days of the World of Outlaws. And of course the race fans loved the watching one of the best A-features in many years. Baker says many fans mentioned that they are already planning their return in 2011 for the 51st annual Knoxville Nationals.
