Thunderstorms dumped multiple inches of rain on Marion County overnight. We officially received 2.1 inches of rain at the KNIA/KRLS studios and a listener who lives northwest of Bussey has reported 4.2 inches of rain in the overnight hours. Knoxville Rural Fire Department and Knoxville EMS responded to the report of a lightning strike at a home northwest of Knoxville, the extent of the damage will not be known until daylight. The Red Cross was called to assist in finding shelter for those affected by the lightning damage. As of 5:48 this morning, MidAmerican Energy reports that there are 80 customers in the county without power.
