With practices officially starting next week, both Pella and Pella Christian volleyball are turning up the intensity level a bit this week in preparation as they participate in the Central College team camps starting today. Over the next few days both teams will experience intense workouts and scrimmage against some of the top teams around the state of Iowa. Coach Bob Fessler of Pella and Coach John Evenhouse of Pella Christian both say this is one of the top team camps around and have called it somewhat of a mini state tournament as they face competition which includes numerous teams that were in the state tournament last season and they say it really prepares them well for the start of official practices next week. Both teams are coming off successful seasons last year which saw Pella win their first ever LHC title and make thier fourth straight state tournament appearence in Class 3A, while Pella Christian finished second in LHC play and made their third straight state tournament appearence in Class 2A.
