Emergency responders in Pella have a new piece of rescue equipment at their disposal, thanks to a grant from two agricultural companies. The $4000 piece of equipment helps rescue individuals trapped in grain bins, and was funded by a grant from Two Rivers Cooperative and Land O’ Lakes. Pella Ambulance Director Doug Polking says the equipment will be used by both the Ambulance and Pella Fire Departments. Hopes are to have training in place before harvest season.
