The Knoxville Police Department will continue their process to hire a new officer on Thursday as 37 candidates have been invited to take part in the next step of interviews and testing. The candidates will begin the day at the Knoxville Recreation Center where they will under go physical fitness testing followed by two interview panels, one with current Knoxville police officers and another with the Civil Service Board, which consists of Dave Hoke, Megan McKay Ziller and Holly Job who were appointed to the board by former Mayor Harv Sprafka.   The board will then certify a list of up to 10 candidates who will be recommended to Chief Dan Losada to continue with the next step of the hiring process.
