2010 Marion County Fair Queen Lacy Stevenson was crowned this year’s Iowa State Fair Queen this evening. Stevenson and the other county queens were judged based on personality, attitude, leadership, contribution to the community, appearance, charm and poise. She relieved tiara, sash, trophy, $2,500 scholarship and $300 savings bond and will now reign over this year’s state fair which takes place through August 22nd in Des Moines.

In addition, Stevenson’s Marion County Fair Grand Champion Steer was also chosen as Governor’s choice for the 28th Annual Governor’s Charity Steer Show this afternoon. The 1,325 pound steer is named “Condition of the Steak” and was raised by Stevenson and her family at their farm just outside of Knoxville.

Stevenson, is a 2010 graduate of Knoxville High School and plans to attend Des Moines Area Community College this fall to major in public service and administration in agriculture.
