Handing Cornell College its first Iowa Conference loss, the Central College volleyball team took a 3-1 victory Tuesday for its seventh straight win. Middle hitter Haley Brillhart led the Dutch offense with 15 kills and a game-high .483 hitting percentage, as well as six blocks. Chelsea Grieger picked up 19 digs. Central improved to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the Iowa Conference. They are one match behind the rest of the league, but sit at the top of the standings with Loras which also remains undefeated after beating Buena Vista 3-0 Tuesday. Central competes at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle at Loras College in Dubuque this weekend. The Dutch play St. Catherine at 4 p.m. Friday before meeting Augsburg at 8 p.m. Saturday the Dutch face Bethel at 10 a.m. and No. 24 St. Mary’s at 2 p.m.
