Busy Weekend for Central Athletics..Weekend Recap

In addition to the season opening football win, several other Fall Central athletics teams were in action this weekend.

The volleyball team struggled at the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Invitational going 0-2 with losses to Stevens Point and Iowa Conference rival Coe College. Junior Haley Brillhart of Pella had 11 kills and three blocks, while Chelsea Grieger of Pella had 18 digs.

The Dutch Women’s golf team placed three golfers in the top four and cruised to a 57 stroke victory over William Penn. Knoxville native, sophomore Kaurie Kincaid carded a 178 and finished three strokes behind the meet medalist from William Penn.

The Women’s Tennis team split two matches beating Cornell 6-3 after falling to Coe 9-0.

The Men’s soccer team, despite outshooting Millikin University 21-8, couldn’t find the net and dropped their season opener 1-0 while the Women’s soccer squad also fell to Millikin 3-1 and in the Central Cross Country Invitational the men’s team finished second with three runners in the top 10 and the women were third.
