Governor Chet Culver has appointed a new District Court Judge in Iowa’s 5A judicial district. Terry Rickers, who currently serves as a private practice attorney at Matthias, Campbell, Tyler, Nuzum and Rickers in Newton was named the new 5A district judge on Saturday. Rickers has served as a Judicial Magistrate for the fifth judicial district since 2005 and was appointed to the new position after District Judge Peter Keller retired after 24 years of service. Iowa’s 5A judicial district includes Marion, Guthrie, Dallas, Madison, Warren and Jasper counties.
