A body has been recovered from Williamson Pond in Lucas County where first responders were searching for a missing person from Melcher-Dallas. Officials on the scene tell KNIA/KRLS news four people were fishing on the pond around 12:30am when their boat capsized. Three of the four made their way to shore safely but one was missing until just before 12:30pm today. The Iowa DNR reports that the body of Jesse Tate, 25, of Melcher-Dallas was recovered.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Chariton Fire Department, Lucas County Sheriff, Chariton Divers, Appanoose County Dive Team, Williamson Fire and EMS, Russell Fire and EMS, Columbia Fire and Rescue and other area first responders assisted at the scene.
