The Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to double single vehicle accidents on highway 14 in Knoxville at around 4:50pm. The accidents occurred within a few hundred feet of each other, both in the right southbound lane of highway 14 just south of the intersection with Robinson Street. One accident involved a black pickup truck which struck the passenger side of a silver pick-up while the other involved a red jeep rear ending a midsize sedan. Both southbound lanes of the highway were closed for approximately 15 minutes as officers on the scene directed traffic. There were no serious injuries in either accident. The silver pick up was towed from the scene while the other three vehicles were able to drive away. The cause of both accidents is unknown at this time.
