The Knoxville Cross Country Invitational is this afternoon at Pine Knolls Golf Course. Knoxville will host nine other teams including Little Hawkeye Conference and county rivals Pella and Pella Christian. Coach Mike Moats says the rivalry between Pella and Knoxville has grown even more since both teams have been ranked in the top five most of the season. He says they have developed a system to spot the top runners from both teams. Knoxville is second ranked…Pella is fourth in 3A and Pella Christian is seventh in class 2A. Besides Pella and Pella Christian, Pleasantville, Twin Cedars, Centerville, Chariton, Indianola, Newton, Oskaloosa, and Lynnville-Sully. Action begins around 3:30 this afternoon with the middle school portion of the event.
