The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum is partnering with the Smithsonian Institution this fall for Museum Day. The sixth annual event is a day where museums across the U.S. open their doors for free to all visitors who download the official ticket. National Sprint Car Museum curator Tom Schmeh says it’s important for all museums to join together a couple of times a year and showcase their cultural unity and diversity, and Museum Day is one of those special opportunities. There will be several special exhibits on display including Salutes to Louis Vermeil, John Gerber, Bob Trostle, The World of Outlaws and 50 years of the Knoxville Nationals-Winning Cars. Museum Day will be held Saturday September 25th and attendees can download the official ticket for free admission at www.smithsonian.com/museumday.
