Teen drinking is something that most parents, teachers, coaches, school administrators and law enforcement agencies worry about. An open discussion about the topic will be held at the Knoxville High School later this month. Principal Kevin Crawford says the purpose of the event is to increase parental awareness and work together to encourage kids to make the right decisions. Crawford says he senses that there is an increase in underage drinking locally and feels that is it a good time to discuss the issue.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada and Certified Prevention Specialist from Employee and Family Resources will join Crawford and speak with students, parents and community members about the consequences of drinking underage. The informal event will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share ideas on how to decrease drug and alcohol use in Knoxville. The open discussion will take place at 7pm on Wednesday September 8th at the Knoxville High School.
