A Pleasantville 4-H member has been awarded with a $1,500 scholarship to help further her education. Trisha Collins, who has been involved in 4-H for nine years, was selected as the recipient of the Juergens Family Scholarship, in honor of Dale and Ruth Juergans. During her time in 4-H, Collins has been involved in the beef, sheep, dog and rabbit project areas and is a state blue ribbon winning photographer. In addition to the 4-H honors, she is also an Academic All-State Top 15 student, Governor’s Scholar, World Food Prize intern and first place county livestock judging winner. When asked how 4-H has impacted her life Collins says it laid out the foundation to leadership and communication skills and she is forever grateful for the personal growth opportunities 4-H has provided her over the years. Trisha is the daughter of Monty and Renee Collins and a graduate of Pleasantville High School. She plans to study animal science at Iowa State University.
