The Scholte House is set up for their newest event which opened on Wednesday and will run through November. The Frontier Experience Exhibit features rare artifacts from the frontier that took place in Marion and Mahaska Counties during 1843 through 1847 as well as Laura Ingalls Wilider’s frontier. Wilider wrote the “Little House” book series which were based on her chilidhood in a pioneer family. On display are unpublished writings, a display of a frontier kitchen and a rare Welch water jug that was made in Marion County in 1845. The event is free to the public and is opened from 1-4 pm on weekdays, 1-8pm on Thursdays and 10a-5p on Saturday.
