Republican Jim Van Engelenhoven recently received the endorsement of the Iowa Corn Growers Association. Van Engelenhoven operates his family’s farm in Mahaska County and he told KNIA/KRLS News that he started farming when he was 18 until he went into the service. Van Engelenhoven went on to say that he began farming again in 1966 and has been doing it ever since. When asked how he felt about having the endorsement, Van Engelenhoven responded saying he was very pleased and was not expecting it.
