The Association of American Colleges and Universities or AAC&U recently announced that there were 32 colleges and universities chosen in a competitive process to participate in General Education for a Global Century. The project is part of AAC&U’s Shared Futures initiative and is funded by the Henry Luce Foundation. Over 140 institutions applied to be a part of the initiative and Central College was one of the schools chosen and the only institution from Iowa. As part of the project, Central will revise general education curriculum to better prepare today’s students with skills and knowledge for socially responsible citizenship. The AAC&U was founded in 1915 and now has 1200 member institutions, including public and private colleges of every type and size.
