After a shaky first half last week at Cornell, the Central football team will look to string together four solid quarters this afternoon in front of hundreds of fans, alumni and students in today’s Homecoming game against Simpson. It’s the first game back at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium since September 18th.

The Dutch remain at No. 9 in the D3football.com poll, entering the game with a 4-1 overall mark and are 2-1 in the Iowa Conference after last week’s win over the Rams. Simpson, meanwhile, is the exact opposite; sitting at 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the league after last week’s loss to Luther College. Last year Central rolled past the Storm 56-24 in Indianola. With a win today, the Dutch would extend the number of seasons without a losing record to 50, dating back to 1960 when the club went 3-6. Ron Schipper took over the program the following season.

Coverage of Central’s Homecoming contest against Simpson College will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS, with Trevor Castle providing the call. Pregame coverage begins at 12:45 p.m., with kickoff between the Dutch and Storm scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Pella. You can also hear the game streamed live at www.kniakrls.com.
