Twelve young ladies arrived in Knoxville yesterday as the Arts Midwest Worldfest continues in Marion County. The ensemble goes by the name “Beauty and Melody” and they come to Iowa from the Sichuan Province in China. While in town this week the group will visit all schools in the Knoxville School District along with Melcher-Dallas school and 3M. Students and community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the Chinese culture and see some tradition Chinese song and dance performances. The program is sponsored by the Red Rock Arts Alliance and member Megan Mckay Ziller says this is a high class, cultural experience similar, to the kind of entertainment offered in larger cities and it is a once in a lifetime experience to be able to host such a program right here in Knoxville.

The week long residency will cap off on Saturday with a public concert at the Knoxville Middle School at 7pm. Advance tickets are available at Peace Tree Brewing Company, The Next Chapter and Knoxville School Administration Office for $7.
