The Pella Police Department reports that counterfeit $100 bills are in circulation. There have been seven known bills reported in the Marion County area which pass the paper/marker test, but are flagged suspicious when passed through an electronic bill counter. All of the bills that have been discovered have been in the 2006 Series. If you come across a counterfeit bill, contact the Pella Police Department at 628-4921.
