Though fall has just begun, winter is right around the corner and the Marion County Engineers Office is making sure they are prepared to keep the roads safe for motorists. County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum says each fall the Secondary Roads Department fills their sheds up with enough sand and salt to get them though a slightly above average winter in terms of precipitation. Schletzbaum says they can also order additional material during the winter season if necessary and believes they will be able to get through another winter similar to last year’s again with the material they have on hand.
