Knoxville Mayor Don Zoutte presented recently signed a proclamation in honor of National Fire Prevention Week. The proclamation calls on all residents to participate in fire prevention activities at home, school and work and follow this year’s theme of “Smoke Alarms, A Sound You Can Live With”. During the week, Knoxville Fire Fighters will be visiting pre-school and elementary schools something Fire Chief Mike Roberts says has becoming a tradition. While in the schools the firefighters touch on a variety of life saving topics to help prepare the children for an emergency. National Fire Prevention Week runs October 3rd through 9th.
