A former local standout athlete helped the Drake Softball squad to an achievement off the field last season. Former P-C-M Standout Lindsey Vande Wall was among nine players from the Bulldogs Softball program to have a grade point average all season of three-point-five or higher and that earned the team a national ranking of fourth in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association…Girls Got Game Academic Awards Program. The Bulldogs were ranked fourth out of all N-C-A-A Division one teams and compiled a team G-P-A of three-point-five/four. Vande Wall earned a perfect four/oh in the fall semester and achieved a three-point-five G-P-A in the spring. She was also named a Girls Got Game N-F-C-A Scholar Athlete. Vande Wall is in her sophomore year at Drake and last spring she batted 237 with a second best on the team nine home runs.
