Two agritourism events will be held in southern Marion County this weekendDan-D Farm, located five miles south of Knoxville on highway 14, will host their second annual Harvest Moon Festival today. Debra from Dan-D Farm says they will have all regular activities available including the corn maze, pig races, farm animals to feed, hay pile and giant slide but this weekend’s event also includes some special events as well. There will be horse rides and pumpkin bowling along with a working saw mill for attendees to check out as it cuts wood from one of the farm’s trees into boards. She says it should be another great fall event to spend outside with the family and encourages everyone to come on out and get lost in the corn field, roast a hotdog and get messy with a s’more. She says kids will always remember a calf licking feed out of their hand and watching little pigs run around a race track. The annual festival will take place Saturday from noon until 6pm at Dan-D Farm, located 5 miles south of Knoxville on highway 14. The cost to attend is $6 per person and children 3 and under are free.

Residents can then drive a few miles south to Pierce’s Pumpkin Patch for the 30th annual Pumpkin Festival where they can check out a variety of pumpkins, have their pictures taken and tour through a hay maze free of charge. The Pumpkin Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday from 8am until 7pm.
